Product Description

The 2.3L EcoBoost engine is a marvel of modern engineering, but Ford dropped the ball on one thing: the intercooler. The factory unit is tiny and inefficient. After just one or two hard pulls, it gets overwhelmed by heat ("heat soak"), causing your Intake Air Temps (IATs) to skyrocket. When that happens, the ECU pulls timing, and your Mustang feels sluggish. The COBB Tuning Intercooler Upgrade breaks that vicious cycle.

COBB didn't just weld a bigger box together. COBB used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to model exactly how air moves through the intercooler. COBB found that most cores only use a fraction of their cooling surface because air takes the path of least resistance. To fix this, COBB cast Air Diverting Fins directly into the end tanks. These fins spread the charged air evenly across the entire face of the core, maximizing cooling efficiency. The result? You get cooler, denser air entering the engine, which equals more consistent horsepower.
